I first met Katherine for coffee at Bloom Cafe in Bristol (if you haven’t been you need to go!). We ended up chatting for almost 2 hours before we even realized how much time had passed and most of what we talked about wasn’t the wedding. That is how I knew we were a perfect fit.
Katherine has the most infections laugh and smile and her wedding day was filled with so many laughs. I knew that Lance didn’t love having his photo taken but as soon as Katherine was around everything about him lit up and I could see him truly be himself with lots of genuine smiles and laughs.
Their first look was so emotionally charged that I had to fight back tears. Katherine started crying as soon as she stepped out of the Bristol Hotel and saw Lance standing a few yards away waiting for her. Some of my favorite moments from the day are of her crying, Lance wiping away her tears and then the two of them both laughing about it.
If you had asked me to describe the type of wedding that I would love to finish of the year with I don’t think I could have created a better one in my head. Lance and Katherine your day was perfect and I am so thankful that I was able to share in so many laughs and capture so much love. Congratulations on your beautiful wedding and I pray continual blessings for years to come!
When I woke up the day of John and Taylors weddings I can honestly say it was the first day that it truly felt like fall. The air was crisp and the leaves were starting to change colors. I had been going over the details of this day for over a year so it was almost surreal that the day was finally here. To be honest, I was also so exited to finally be able to share the bridal portraits that I had taken of Taylor on her family farm a few weeks prior!
The Trinkle Mansion bed and breakfast was the perfect backdrop for John and Taylors first look. Moments prior to the first look Taylors mom helped to make sure all of the details were perfect. There is something so beautiful about a bride on her wedding day-just filled with so much love and anticipation. Taylor was glowing.
After portraits at the Trinkle Mansion Taylor and John said their vows at the West in Church in town surrounded by their closest family and friends. Guests signed wooden hearts to fill a box that will hang on their wall. Their beautiful day was finished off with lots of celebrations and dancing at the Wytheville Country Club.
I was lucky enough to meet Emily and Donavon almost 2 years ago at a Bridal show in Kentucky. Fast forward to this October and the first weekend in the month that actually felt like fall. The weekend before their wedding the temperatures were in the 80’s with humidity of a million degrees and on their wedding day the sky was filled with epic could and the high was in the 50’s. Their smiles and excitement kept everyone warm all day.
I’m a sucker for personalized details and their day was filled with them from the personalized wedding hanger, custom fishing lure boutonnieres and their cake with Deadpool hidden on the side. All of these elements and the people who shared in this day were what made is so beautiful. Donavon and Emily your day was perfect. Thank you for allowing me to share in the memories that were made and the smiles that were shared!
Jacob and Abbigale are too cute for words during their engagement session and this venue was magic. Can it be summer so I can capture their wedding already? The Abingdon Winery is so beautiful and the light there was magical for this session. I loved walking around this venue with these two getting to get to know them and their story.
Next time I think we will follow Jacobs lead since he was able to find the easy path to get down to the creek while Abbigale and I scaled down the rocky hill. On the bright side I told Abbigale It’s better to learn it the hard way because we would remember the right way on her wedding day!
They laughed and snuggled and there were times I just wanted to stop and stare because they were so sweet and lost in the moment. To top it off the beautiful glow around this was something out of a dream. I don’t ever want to rush time because it already goes so quickly but I cannot wait until June to spend the day with these two on their wedding day.
The sweetest couple, a gorgeous sunset and 2 adorable dogs made for a perfect engagement session. I was lucky enough to get to wander around this beautiful farm in Rural Retreat with John and Taylor.
I absolutely love engagement sessions because they allow couples a chance to get comfortable with me behind the camera. My favorite part is that by the end of the session they feel comfortable enough to truely laugh, and be themselves in front of me. Getting to that point is the key to telling their love story on their wedding day and I will do whatever it takes to make them laugh and have fun at their sessions.
Thank you for trusting me to tell your love story next year. I cannot wait to be a part of your big day.
I have always heard that is is good luck to have a little rain on your wedding day. So when it won’t stop raining that has to be a amazing sign! A marriage is symbolized by a knot and a wet knot is basically impossible to untie. When you ‘tie the knot’ on a rainy day your marriage and bond is hard to unravel.
Joby and Breana’s day was so beautiful and most importantly filled with so many smiles and so much love. We had to adjust and move the beautiful setup indoors but everyone was so eager to help make the adjustment as quick as possible. The rain ended just in time for the fog to roll in over the mountains. I always sneak my bride and groom away for sunset portraits when I can but this time it was for the fog which has become my newest obsession.
Everyone ate cake and the kids danced in the rain. It was a beautiful day and I am so thankful I was able to share in it with this sweet couple.
Kentucky weather is crazy (as most of you know). This September wedding was one of the hottest I have had all year. But can we talk about how beautiful the Bride Alicia still looked? I was a hot sweaty mess but she was glowing. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day for a farm wedding.
All the details were perfect from the wildflower bouquets to the family quilts covering the hay stacks. The sweetest part of the day was the unity sand where all of the kids were involved, each having their own container of sand. Alicia and Daniel I pray continual blessings over your marriage and your beautiful family. Thank you for allowing me to capture your day.
