All of my wedding packages included a complimentary engagement session also knowns as a get to know you session. I want to know the heart of my clients because that is the key to capturing their story on their wedding day. My heart skipped a beat when I asked Emily what she envisioned for their engagement session and she said a picnic by the river with their dog and maybe some fly fishing at the end. It would be hard to create an engagement session more genuine and perfect than that.

Emily and Skyler compliment each other in so many ways. You can see their love and patience with each other. They lift each other up and enrich each others lives.

Their engagement session gave me a glimpse into who they were as a couple and I knew their backyard wedding in Bristol Virginia would be extremely special. All of the details were perfect with wildflowers, a live bluegrass band and charcuterie boards.

Their wedding took place on Emily’s grandmothers farm. She got dressed inside the old farm house where the walls were covered in family portraits and memories. A small chandelier made of spoon hung in the foyer. Emily walked through a wall of wild bamboo that she use to play in as a child to get to the ceremony site.

Skyler and Emily both have an appreciation of nature so the backdrop for their intimate ceremony was perfect. Skyler built the arch, where they said their vows, out of a poplar tree he found on the land. Every element has meaning and was so aligned to the heart of Skyler and Emily

Their wedding was a celebration that brought their family and closest friends together in a meaningful place. It was an honor to share in their intimate back yard wedding in Bristol Virginia.
